Thank you again for your continued patience and cooperation through the 643 renovation. We continue to make great progress on all floors at the 643. Remember to check the project website updatesatthe643.com for more information, including virtual tours, high performance and technology being used on the 643 project. You can also use HoloBuilder to see 360 photo updates of the progress work on every floor! We will also start discussions for our move back soon.

Our virtual construction team is always finding ways to build smarter while continuously exploring new technologies. We would never propose doing something innovative with a client we wouldn't do for ourselves. So, as the owner and contractor for our Chicago office, we recently tested and implemented new technology that provides value for both us and our clients. We worked closely with LIGHTYX and our self-perform drywall group a week ago to lay out our new office floors. As you can see, we leveraged BIM and lasers that projected onto surfaces instead of traditional methods. Because of our curved building, this was a very useful tool.

Current project progress

  • We have been receiving materials for the penthouse roof replacement

  • The new ductwork has been installed and the shaft has been upgraded and sealed

  • Restroom floor prep continues and we have started installing ceramic tile

  • Improvements to the 8th-floor terrace continue

  • The turf ceiling baffle layout has been installed for an acoustic ceiling feature in the open workspaces

We are making significant progress on the 643 Renovations. Demolition is complete. MEP and drywall continue on each floor to open up the spaces and take advantage of natural sunlight. We are also making improvements to the rooftop terrace to make it more usable.

These updates will be distributed monthly until late summer when we will increase the frequency to inform you about the renovation's completion and plans to move back.
